KC Humphrey – Chief Designer
KC has been a boardgamer most of his life. He started playing Magic the Gathering just before Ice Age came out and was introduced to German board gaming through Settlers of Catan. He joined Rip City Gamers, a Portland, Oregon games play group, in 2001.
KC began designing games with an entry in Abstract Games Magazine’s game contest in 2002. Acorn made the finals of the competition.
KC formed Chesrcat Games in 2003, primarily for desktop publishing of games, aids, and prototype design. Games in design include the New Eden series, Metro 2 (a sequel to Dirk Henn’s Metro), and Base Camp Delta.
In addition to gaming, KC writes and performs music for guitar, mandolin, and piano. He produced a record album in 1975, and a songbook in 1978. The Humphreys are members of Sunnyside Foursquare Church where KC plays with the worship team.
